Marquette, MI – ReBlossom is a store that has a special place in my heart.  When my own little boutique in Escanaba had to close its doors, due in part to the Economy Tank of 2008, her store bought almost my entire inventory, to help me avoid a total loss.  I mentioned it to Sharon the other day when I visited there to drop off some business suits that just DID NOT fit me any more L.  She didn’t remember me, which was okay, they deal with a lot of people and I hadn’t been in there for some time.  But I remembered the owner, Sharon Rule.  She impressed me back then and did so again today.

Well, 2008 was five years ago, and to look at ReBlossom today, you know that it’s stories like this which have had to helped these two dynamic women to not only stay in business, but to thrive today in 2014.  Well, business is in bloom at Reblossom in downtown Marquette. They are now dressing Vicki Crystal, a local News Anchor with WLUC TV6, and have even locked in a Fashion Spot every Thursday morning with the station.  They are conveniently located in Downtown Marquette, at 333 West Washington Avenue and are really quite easy to locate.  Look for the clothing that they position outside, on the front of their brick building (every day that Mother Nature allows them to not blow away). They feature popular fashions for the season, and it’s interesting to see what ensembles they put out each day.

Sharon and Debbie have been partners in owning ReBlossom since it opened its doors back in 2008.  Their first location was down on Third Street, with little- to- no parking; they moved to their new location in 2011 and business has been booming ever since.  Between the two ladies, they have over 40 years of experience in Retail Sales.

To walk into ReBlossom, you really get the feeling of being in an upscale resale boutique, and that’s the whole idea that the ladies here want you to get.  There are special occasion dresses, including ball gowns and slinky dresses for Prom.  There are brightly colored tops, a nice inventory of name-brand jeans and even a room devoted to handbags, purses and accessories!  There are rooms of tee shirts, from popular retailers like Hollister to Abercrombie & Fitch, to racks of fashionable skirts and sundresses.  There are some home décor items, but ReBlossom specializes in clothing for the majority of their business.

Here’s how it works there:  You can bring in your gently-used clothing-formal dresses, name-brand jeans and tops, fancy dresses and accessories, purses or bags. ReBlossom will inspect and potentially ‘purchase’ your goods from you in one of two ways. 1) They will offer you a cash amount, or 2) a ‘trade in’ option, an amount that is given in the form of an in-store credit, and is usually substantially higher than the cash option. ReBlossom will then log that garment’s information into their inventory, price it to sell, and then it is for sale to all visiting customers. It really is a great little way to get a few bucks for something that you may have only wore once, or something that you may never use again.

Looking around on this, my visit to ReBlossom today, I’m impressed with all of the ensembles that the ladies here have displayed. At the end of every rack, there is an outfit displayed with everything from the earrings and necklace, the top, pants, belt, scarf and handbag, right down to the shoes! If you’re getting ready to go on vacation, make ReBlossom a necessary stop when looking for high-end travel wear. Going for a job interview? Stop at ReBlossom, tell the ladies that I sent you in, and they will help you in your search of that ONE outfit that makes you stand out as THE professional candidate for the job.

The target market for the purpose of the ReBlossom store could really be “women of all ages, shapes and sizes.” I once took my 10-year-old daughter in with me; 14 shirts, 3 skirts and 4 pairs of jeans later, she was extremely pleased with all the clothing that she was able to get, and I was impressed with the fact that it didn’t lighten my wallet too much.

Any time that I need quality clothing at a fraction of the price, I think “ReBlossom.” Whether or not I need outerwear, jewelry or a cute accent purse, I know that ReBlossom is there to offer what I could not otherwise afford to purchase. ReBlossom is an upscale resale boutique that we’re lucky enough to have right here in our beautiful downtown. Support this and every other local small business, it’s what helps to keep our wonderful community alive.
