Haunted Theatre: For a Good Scare
Marquette, MI – For this weekend only NMU’s Forest Roberts Theatre will be putting a chill in the air as well as your soul as it divulges it’s darkest secrets to behold for all those brave enough to enter the Haunted Theatre…
A sneak peak on opening night of this gruesome production Thursday revealed the dark and creative madness of director Martyn Martello and his twisted cast as they put the screams into Halloween. The talented participants and theatre setting allows for much more atmosphere and special effects than your average haunted house…
A tradition was born years ago in Martello’s front yard as he transformed his home into a frightening delight to scare the bejeezers out of trick-or-treaters every Halloween. Says Martello with a maniacal laugh, ” I just love to make people scream.” … and apparently, people love having a reason to scream because Martello’s Halloween fantasy has grown into a fantastic annual production with the capacity to thrill and chill an entire community.
Even the bravest of the brave will be tested within the theatre walls and if you’re an easy scare… let’s just say you’d better bring a change of clothes…. this crew is out to break their record from last year when they sent 9 people home with soiled pants! (those who made it home…)
And if that’s not enough to get you over to the Forest Roberts Theatre, just remember that proceeds from the weekend event will go to the First Nighters Club which provides scholarships to benefit NMU students!
The Haunted Theatre will present two different versions: Friday & Saturday nights from 8-11pm for mature audiences and a scaled-down family friendly version for younger audiences on Saturday afternoon from 4:30-6pm.
