Marquette, MI, March 22, 2014 – I joined my mother and her best friend to attend what we thought was a women’s health fair only to find that it was actually the Marquette Holistic Health Fair!  “Equally as good for me,”  I thought.  I already had my camera in hand so I was ready to go.

The event was put on by Natural Connection Marquette at the U.P. Sportsplex so I also had the opportunity to visit the new roller rink at the same time. However,  I decided to save the roller skates for my next visit…

Visitors to the Spring Holistic Health Fair were treated to presentations by local experts on a variety of health and wellness issues, cash drawings, and door prizes donated by practitioners and vendors represented at the fair.  This was a great event to discover some of the great resources we have available locally to keep our communities healthy.

Vendors included many local talents from artisans of hand-crafted goods such as U.P. Mom Creations making cloth diaper covers for babies and Broke Bike Jewelry creating unquie earrings from reclaimed bicycle parts.

Holistic practitioners of massage, chiropractic, yoga, and essential oils were onhand sharing their hands-on techniques for relieving stress, relaxation, and preventative care for our bodies

Educators provided information on our local recycling and composting programs and many products were available for healthy snacking, body care, and natural cleaning products for the home.  See more articles on how to easily adapt green practices!
