NMU vs MTU Hockey Hot Action Game
Wildcat and Huskies face off in high action men’s ice hockey game Saturday at the Berry Events Center!

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University hockey team played a great game Saturday night against Michigan Tech during their Western Collegiate Hockey Association match. MTU made the winning goal in the 3rd period finishing the game at 3-2 and beating out the Wildcats. Despite the loss for the Cats it was an exciting game to watch as they put forth great effort throughout the game.

NMU head coach Walt Kyle had this to say about the game, “I was real happy with our performance. I thought we played really well. It’s always tough to lose but you have to be honest with how you played and I thought the guys did a great job, I was really happy with the effort and with all the things we were able to do,” said NMU head coach Walt Kyle. “You need that effort and that quality of execution night after night and if you have that there are still going to be some nights where you are going to not come out on top. That’s acceptable, we expect that. What you can’t have are nights where you’re quality of play or effort is not good and we have had some of those in my opinion over the last 10 games. I will take the next four games with that effort.”

Fans were in abundance at the game sharing lots of passion and enthusiasm which made for great atmosphere during the game.
NMU will play their last home game of the regular season against Bowling Green State Feb 28 and March 1 at the Berry Events Center. Game starts at 7:07 p.m. both nights.
