Seussical Jr The Musical Debuts in Marquette
Get ready for this weekend at Kaufman Auditorium for the return of Seussical by the Lake Superior Youth Theatre!
I’m not surprised to hear this after getting a sneak peak of the show during their dress rehearsal on Wednesday night. LSYT has a dynamic cast of young talent from the Marquette area ranging in ages from 3 and 4 years old to 18 years old. What is hard to believe is how well they have prepared a HUGE cast of 127 members (with Whoville cast members rotating in and out to keep it at 109) for a high energy show of non-stop song and dance.
The show features young talents in voice, acting, dance, gymnastics and even ariel artists dangling from the ceiling on beautiful silk fabrics like those seen in Cirque Du Soleil. This show allows students of various talents to showcase their skills and have a lot of fun all while building performance, communication, and organizational skills.
My compliments to director Nikke Nason who has put together a high quality production that is a wonderful tribute to the stories of beloved author Dr. Seuss. This adaptation was written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and co-conceived by Eric Idle. Truly a fun show for all the family that everyone will enjoy together.
NOT to be missed!
