Traditional Music Jam at Peter White Library
Marquette, MI, Nov. 17, 2013 – Traditional Music Jam at Peter White Library – The Peter White Library is host to many great community events and this monthly acoustic folk music play & sing is a quality jam session. It’s open to everyone with an interest and you don’t need to play an instrument to be welcome there. Several folks we observed were happy just sitting back and enjoying the music. All ages represented in the room and the smiles were plentiful.
The emphasis of the folk music session is on old time fiddle tunes, blues grass, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, etc. Guitars, fiddles, banjos, and other acoustic instruments are welcome. We saw folks playing percussive spoons and small hand accordion as well. It was a warm friendly atmosphere and inspiring to see folks sharing music so casually. Good for the soul (and the coffee was good too!)
We definitely plan on returning next month for the next Traditional Music Jam at Peter White Library, Sunday, December 16, 2013. Happening in the community room (downstairs next-door to the Kaluthia Cafe) from 2 – 5pm. No Admission Charge!
If you have questions about the event you can call the library at 226-4318 or visit their website: www.pwpl.info
